Fasting plasma glucose (FPG)

Fasting plasma glucose (FPG) refers to the measurement of glucose levels in the blood after an overnight fasting period. This test is commonly used to diagnose and monitor diabetes mellitus. During the fasting state, the body's glucose levels are expected to be relatively stable, and measuring FPG helps healthcare professionals assess the body's ability to regulate blood sugar.
