Random plasma glucose (RPG) refers to the measurement of glucose levels in the blood at any time of the day, regardless of when the individual last ate. Unlike fasting glucose tests that require overnight fasting, the random plasma glucose test does not require prior fasting. It is a convenient and quick way to assess blood glucose levels, making it suitable for situations where fasting is not practical.
