Oxidative phosphorylation

Oxidative phosphorylation is the process by which cells produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the primary energy currency of the cell. This process occurs in the mitochondria of eukaryotic cells and involves the transfer of electrons through a series of protein complexes in the inner mitochondrial membrane.
